Catholic Media Convocation Workshop

Our thanks to everyone who participated in the Podcasting and Radio Storytelling workshop at the Catholic Media Convocation in Orlando this morning. We're glad you joined us. Over the next few days we'll be adding links to the sites mentioned during the workshop as well as a copy of the PowerPoint presentation we shared. Those of you visiting this blog who weren't at the workshop are, of course, welcome to the material as well.

About 8 months old - practically speaking - podcasting is getting more and more publicity and media coverage as 2005 goes on. We expect rapid development to continue during this year.

One site we encourage you to visit is Disciples with Microphones where you'll find many good Catholic podcasts. (This site is also listed under Links on the right.)

Most of all, we encourage you to share your comments and questions about podcasting. We'd like to know what you think.

Convergence

What's media convergence? There are some good articles like this one that tackle the topic.

But one of the best ways to experience one type of media convergence is to visit the Vidlit site and take it for a spin.

Getting Started

Want to learn more about podcasting? Here's one of the best resources.

Steve Kellmeyer's article "How to Podcast" is a great introduction to the elements and the process.

This article has ideas about the equipment you might need when setting up your podcasting studio. Since podcasters use all kinds of gear, share about your setup in the Comments.
